Teacher Appreciation

Teacher Appreciation

I don’t have the space or words to show my appreciation for you. Your impact on me and your students is truly appreciated and immeasurable. I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with this year. I am very grateful to have worked with you as you have demonstrated care, compassion, and patience (with me, the system and students). You have thought outside of the box and inspired peers and students to do the same. You have inspired your students and me. Thank you.

I know that the challenges of this year have brought on much stress as we have navigated the challenges of creating a new school over the matter of a couple of months. I couldn’t have done this without you. I know your job is stressful and the hours are long, but I’ve not once heard you complain. You’ve met every challenge with passion, patience and reflection. Thank you.

Thank you for all the wisdom you have shared with colleagues and me. I hope that each of you has learned 1/10th of what I have learned from you about education and myself this year. Thank you for encouraging me to be my best and inspiring our students to see their potential.

Thank you for believing in your students and yourselves. Thank you for your time, effort, commitment and compassion. Thank you for believing in your students and all your efforts to help them learn and grow.

No card, certificate, medal or prize will be sufficient to show my appreciation. I wish I could have done more throughout the year and I should have.

Thank you.

Wednesday This one is a little longer than some of the others. It requires students to have a note card or paper and a pen. https://youtu.be/zU5INcSGBQ0

Friday https://youtu.be/Akd6JXwjQkk

The idea in the Friday fun was for me to draw something that I liked. I drew McDonadl’s fries. You can add to this by having them draw picture about their hobbies, foods, and other favorites.

Mindful Messages

Message

Affirmations/Prompts

Monday

Every person has a story. Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.

Can you think of a time where you judged someone unfairly?

First impressions are often wrong. Can you think of a time where an impression you had was wrong?

Tuesday

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive

Why is it important to forgive? Can you share a time where you were able to forgive someone even it was hard to do so?

Is there a time where you sought forgiveness? How did you feel afterwards?

Wednesday

Self-compassion is being kind and gentle to yourself, even when you make mistakes

What works for you when you make mistakes?

Thursday

Talking about your problems with a trusted person is a positive thing. It’s a sign of strength. It shows that you are aware of things.

Are you problems as big when you talk to someone about them? Why?

Who can you talk to?

Friday

You matter.

Who do you matter to? Did you say yourself? That’s a good place to start?

How else do you matter? Who else do you matter to?
